Life Is Good

          Life is Good

The center of this quilt is from a class I took and then expanded on it to create
this one of a kind all cotton front and back with customized detailed quilting.
I feel like LIFE IS GOOD and wanted to share that sentiment with my dear
friend Mr. Titus. In the top blue block of this quilt are the words...
Life is Good
The striped fabric makes an amazing center piece for this quilt.

Bright Colors for the Twins

     Bright Colors for the Twins

My daughter has a friend who has twins and you might notice A LOT of my quilts are
for my children's friends that have had children. My children are the real life in my
being and their friends are my friends. Babies are such a gift from God and I love sharing
his joy, so I quilt for my family and friends. These quilts are made of all cotton and
quilted with a bright green and royal blue back (which I cannot find the photo of...)
I love my embroidery almost as much as my quilting and I really enjoyed this piece
with a new alphabet I got that will allow me use fabric and two colors of thread.
Congratulations Candice!

Brooklyn's Fancy Umbrellas

    Brooklyn's Fancy Umbrellas

Brooklyn my Great Niece, that makes me the Great Auntie Deborah!
This is another quilt I made for her with all cotton fabric, some of which is flannel.
This extra soft quilt is the special love this little girl deserves.
The umbrellas are on the fabric and in the quilting design. This
quilt is sure to keep her warm and cozy, even on a rainy day.

Grandma's Pink Gingham

     Grandma's Pink Gingham

This colorful and stunning quilt was made by a friend's grandmother
and she entrusted me with the honor of quilting the masterpiece. All of the cotton
pieces were hand sewn together with more love than we can guess.
With old quilts especially, it is hard to determine what is the best fabric for
the back of the quilt. It has to continue the story the quilter began. In this case, I felt a pink
gingham and pink thread would complete the story. I used straight line quilting patterns
blocks to keep the sharp points she created alive and was able to add some scrolly
patter in the sashing to complete the feminine chapter of this one.
Quilting this was quite an honor, Thank you Cindy!

Brooklyn's Belle

     Brooklyn's Belle

My beautiful neice Kimberly is having a baby Girl, her name
is Brooklyn. Such a Beautiful Belle name I couldn't resist making
this one for her. She has now been born and is very healthy and
vibrant little princess. This quilt is made with all cotton muslin on the front
and cotton print on the back, the binding is a combination of the two.
Cotton and Wool batting is used for the maximum exageration in the negative spaces.
She is quite the Belle, Brooklyn...I mean.
(This time I even got the label right...)

Jackson's "Great" Auntie Deborah

Jackson's "Great" Auntie Deborah

Jackson is just about as cute as they come and his SueSue
thinks he is as cute as they come! I kept thinking of myself as his
Auntie Deborah then as I was folding the Monkey Quilt I made for him...
it dawned on me I am his "Great" Auntie Deborah!
I loved the panel when I saw it and knew it would be perfect for my grandsons
and for Baby Jackson... a bunch of little monkeys!

Announcement Quilt

Baby Eubanks Announcement Quilt

Baby Eubanks is an Announcement Quilt... My daughter's dear friends have announced they are having a baby and do not and will not know the gender until delivery time! Who does that these days? Most parents are there at the first visit with confirmation of a baby wanting to know "What is it?"  These two wonderful people are definitely God's gift to this new baby.
Congratulations!

Tyler Edward Shiny Quilt

     Tyler Edward's Shiny Quilt

Tyler Edward is my newest grandson, who is now walking at 9 months. Let's
face it he has a rambuncious brother Case Edward, 2 years old and very lively
cousins, Ethan 4 years old and Olivia 2 years old. He will have no trouble
keeping up with them and they all love and adore him.
This quilt has a flannel backed satin on the front, you know like we used to
have on the binding of our blankets when we were little. The back is made
of Minkie... ooohhh now that is the combination, especially when it is
completed with the dense circle and swirl quilting and specialized
with his the most beautiful word in the language...
his name     Tyler!

Great Grandmother Treasure

Great Grandmother Treasure

This amazing quilt was carefully and tediously put together with
Love by my dear friend's Great Grandmother sometime around 1900,
she lived to be 40 years old. She did not get to quilt it for her beautiful
grand daughter, she honored me with that great pleasure. The attention to
detail and the colors are not far from the color pallets we use today.
It is truely an amazing work of art!
Thank You Tammy!

Grandmother's Nine Magnificent 9 Patch

Grandmother's Nine Magnificent 9 Patch

This beautiful 9 Patch was made by a dear friend of mine's Grandmother
some time around 1942. It is primarily made with polyester
fabrics from her clothing. The vibrant colors and spectacular design
show she was a Magnificent Woman!
This was a special joy to quilt for her, it has such meaning.
Thank You Tammy!
